(MG Road - Gangtok)
To reach Gangtok, one has to get down in NJP (New Jalpaiguri) railway station. From there, there are lots of jeeps, sumo's are available which will take you to Gangtok. From NJP it takes three and half hours to reach Gangtok. There are no public buses available to reach gangtok, the only way is to take a jeep. The cost per person to reach gangtok from NJP is Rs 150. The sumo's or jeeps will only accomodate 10 persons(including driver). No jeeps will take more than 10 person as its against law there. If you are planning to book a whole jeep for yourself than you will be charged 1350 Rs. Otherwise its rupees 150 per head with sharing basis. One can also reach Gangtok via Helicopter service. The nearest airport is Bagdora(3 kms from NJP and Siliguri) from there one can take Helicopter services to reach gangtok but its costs 4000 rupees per head.

The road to gangtok is full of scenaries and takes you to a high altitude. While ascending to the hillstation one can view the beautiful teesta river throughout the hills and valleys.

Sikkim is one of the most beautiful place in India, in fact it is one of the amazing places in the world. Sikkim can be rightly described as the Swiss of East, as its a paradise in earth will beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, flora and fauna. Apart from that, its one of the few places in India which is not yet polluted by tourists as the environmental law is very strict here. The beauty of Sikkim cannot be merely expressed in words as one has to visit this place to feel the creators magical touch. The place looks heavenly and ethereal and completely takes one person into a deep meditative state. I have visited most parts of Sikkim during my tour and i must say that the place is simply mind blowing and exquisite. After visiting Sikkim, i could not stop myself creating a blog to guide everyone about planning a tour to Sikkim.
